I hope you all had a merry Christmas! I spent the week home in NY enjoying time with family, consuming lots of calories, and taking a nice little break from life! Shutting off for a few days can really do wonders, but after 5 days out of the kitchen, I’m itching to get back to baking :) I’ve already got lots of new dessert ideas brewing in my head for 2013, but first I want to take a look back at the best of 2012. From sparkly peeps to an oatmeal cream pie makeover that still makes me swoon, this was a seriously sweet year! There was no way I could narrow down my favorites, so these are your top picks! I wonder if your favorite made the list…

Good morning friends. I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving, and I hope you’re ready for holiday baking!! After a fun weekend home in NY, I couldn’t wait to get back in the kitchen and share my first holiday cookie of the season. I figured a good way to kick things off would be with some nutella cookies. Cookies that are so light, warm, and inviting, they can only be described as pillows. Wonderful little nutella pillows that you’ll want to dive right into, and never get out!

There’s something about an ice cream sandwich that makes me smile. It must have something to do with the fact that it’s completely acceptable to eat one in place of a meal because it’s summer, and it’s just so hot that you can’t bring yourself to have anything else. Maybe it’s how after a few bites it begins to melt, and before you know it it’s all over you and you’re one sticky hot mess. What makes this whole situation even better is when that ice cream sandwich consists of boozy ice cream sandwiched between soft baked nutella cookies and then rolled in Callebaut dark chocolate. Seriously, there are no words.
