Top Valentine’s Day Desserts

Happy Friday, friends!  Valentine’s Day is almost here and love is in the air.  Actually, it’s more like snow is in the air.  And on the ground.  And bloody everywhere.  But love, let’s stick with that and chocolate, even better!  It’s also the time I get to make everything more pink than usual and throw heart sprinkles around like it’s my job ;)

Love it or loathe it, I think we can all agree Valentine’s Day is a perfect excuse to indulge.  Whether you’re baking up something sweet for someone, or even better – treating yourself, I’ve rounded up my favorite Valentine’s Day desserts.  From cupcakes to cheesecake, sophisticated to fun, it’s all here.

Roasted Strawberry Cupcakes are everything a cupcake should be.  Vanilla cupcakes that bake up beautifully, studded with sweet, roasted strawberries and topped with luscious mascarpone frosting. Keep the flowers, these are where it’s at.

Bright citrus keeps me going this time of year and these Blood Orange Tequila Shortbread should definitely be on your list! I wonder how many one would have to eat to forget about all the snow…

These are a must for girl’s night and one of my picks for Oscar parties too!

If Devil’s Food Whoopie Pies don’t say I love you, I don’t know what does.

This cupcake right here is the reason I love posts like this!  Goat Cheese and Red Wine Cupcakes are hands down, my favorite cupcake to date!  I created these for Raycom media as an Oscar inspired dessert, and these are the cupcakes I always see floating around social media!

A light cocoa cupcake topped with goat cheese frosting and drizzled with a sweet red wine reduction pretty much has everything we could ever need in life.  It’s love.

Raspberry Swirl Chocolate Truffle Cheesecakes are definitely one of my favorites!  They’ve got all the big Valentine’s Day dessert credentials: Rich, sinful, decadent, yet light, and that pop of raspberry seals the deal.  And they’re baked in heart shaped little springform pans – I can’t even handle it!!

No-bake cheesecake more your thing?  This Nutella cheesecake one is like a hug in a glass.  Go for it!

White Chocolate Strawberry Shortcake has got it all going on: Brown sugar pecan cake, white chocolate mousse and Grand Marnier macerated strawberries.  You can make this one as is, or make a big trifle – delicious!  Plus there’s a how-to video!

Look at this wonky little character!  Love Monster Cupcakes are great for kids and the decorating options are endless, so break out the heart shaped sprinkles and candy!  I would also like to add that these are equally as fab for adults :)

There’s something to be said for a simple cookie recipe that’s been baked and shared countless times. Peanut Butter Peanut m&m Cookies are comfort in a cookie and a great gift to bake up for someone.

Equally as great to bake up for yourself, so if you don’t want to share, I won’t tell!

Hi, I just have to say all your photos are stunning! Did you take a food photography class or something? Do you use special lighting?

Hi Sarah! That’s very kind of you to say, thank you! I have not taken any classes and I don’t use any special lighting. I shoot in natural light.
