Trick or treat! Are you guys ready for Halloween? I cannot get enough festive treats and sweets right now. From homemade caramel apples to everyones’s favorite spooky spider layer cake, I want to make them all!
Before I start going on about my love of zhushing up cauldrons and dolling-up ghosts with pink sparkly bows, I want to welcome all the new friends who’ve found their way here. Thank you for all your kind comments and emails. I’m thrilled you’re enjoying all the desserts, and if there are any special desserts you’d like to see this holiday season, please let me know!
There are lots of new sweets heading your way and if you’re following along on Instagram, you’ve already caught a preview in stories! But today is all about spooky Halloween sweets, and by spooky, you should know I mean adorable/decadent/binge worthy sweets!
While I always think cake is a good idea, I also love options and we’ve got a lot! If you’re a fan of peanut butter cookies, make sure to check out the cutest ever spider peanut butter cookies. It’s a great recipe because you can make them as simple or as fancy pants as you want, and kids love to make them – so do adults! Thank you very much!
There’s also some great sweet and salty snack/nosh type situations, and if you’ve always wanted to make caramel apples, this is your time! They’re so much easier to make than you’d think and anything I can cover in sprinkles is always a win!
There’s something for everyone here, so let’s jump right in!
Halloween Caramel Apples – These are a classic and such a great project if you’re looking to do something fun with the family. You’ll find all my best tips for the caramel-ing process too!
Just in case you missed the Spooky Spider Cake blowing up all over Pinterest, here it is! It’s definitely way more cute than spooky, and it’s finished with as many festive sprinkles as I could get my hands on! Even better, the inside is chocolate and Baileys cookies and cream!
Save me a piece, okay??
Girly Ghost Cupcakes – I kind of feel like this is the one girl group that would never break up.
In Buttercream Blondie land, even the spiders have sprinkles! These wonky little peanut butter spider cookies are almost too cute to eat – almost, and this is one of those cookie recipes I make all year long – minus the spider legs!
Red Wine Chocolate Naked Cake – Lets face it, I’m here for the boos! Sorry, couldn’t help myself with that one.
Boozy Oreo Cheesecake Bars – These have party written all over them! They’re also perfect for girl’s night, or any night if you ask me!
Spooky spider cupcakes – Because in my world spiders rock sparkly bows!
Candy Corn Rosette Cake – The classic rosette cake gets a Halloween makeover!
P.S. How-to make a rosette cake video coming your way in the near future!
Pumpkin Kiss Brownies – It feels like I first made these a lifetime ago, but they are still one of the most popular recipes this time of year! They are extremely rich, decadent and over-the-top! Exactly what dessert should be, right?
Tip: Freeze brownies for an hour before cutting to achieve clean edges.
Halloween Cauldron Cake – I mean, who doesn’t love a sparkly cauldron? This cake is actually super easy, as in I used a balloon to make the cauldron! How-to video included in this one.
Pumpkin Kiss Pretzel Bites – These little gems are so unsuspecting. It’s that one treat you will keep going back to – trust me…
Candy Corn Popcorn Balls – Sweet, salty, and I’m not one bit sorry! I think these are so fun to make and the addition of salty peanuts balances out the sweet beautifully! These are a party must!
Do you have one recipe you make every Halloween, or do you like to change it up and try different ones? I love mixing it up, but I always like to create one wonky little creature of sorts, and there’s a new one coming your way next!
Thanks so much for reading and remember to tag me on Instagram so I can see your bakes!
Happy baking! xo
