Halloween Cookie Cups

Halloween Cookie Cups - Classic chocolate chip cookies get a whole new look for Halloween! These adorable little characters are a treat everyone is sure to love!| ButtercreamBlondie.com

Happy Halloween, friends! Do you have your candy and costumes ready? I cannot believe how many of you have already made the spooky spider peanut butter cookies and layer cake, and I’m hoping you have room for one more dessert! You guys know I’m all about creating wonky little characters for halloween, which is why I am so excited to share these chocolate chip cookie cups with you.

Before the sugar and flour start flying, I want to share some exciting news with you guys. This season I’m teaming up with my friends at Farberware to bring you a fabulous series of holiday dishes (you can expect a few savory ones too!) and we’re kicking the party off the best way I know how – with dessert!

Soft-baked cookies are good to begin with, but cookies filled with chocolate ganache and topped with vanilla buttercream are even better!

These cookie cups couldn’t be easier to make either. They start with a super simple chocolate chip cookie dough that gets scooped directly into a muffin tin. The cookies are baked until they’re just set and then you create a little cup by pressing the back of a cookie scoop or melon baller into the middle.

While the cookies are cooling, it’s time to make the ganache. You can use any chocolate you wish, but I recommend using dark or semisweet here. A darker chocolate will balance out the sweetness of the buttercream that’s coming next!

Last, but certainly not least, it’s time to dress the cookies up with buttercream and sprinkles. Classic vanilla buttercream in vibrant shades of purple and orange scream Halloween, and in my world sprinkles are a must! I finished them off with candy eyes and I think they really make them! I love how the candy eyes instantly turned them into adorable little characters! I think that guy down below looks a little nervous too. It’s like he knows his time is up!

Make sure to head over to Farberware for the full Halloween cookie cup recipe! I know you’ll love them! Have a Happy Halloween and I’ll see you next week! Happy baking!

Disclosure: I am in a working relationship with Farberware and this recipe was developed for Farberware Cookware.  Thank you for supporting Buttercream Blondie and allowing me to share what I love!

The printed recipe calls for 1/2 cup salt! Is this correct?
