Magimix By Robot-Coupe Food Processor Review & Giveaway!

May 10, 2012 by bblondie 323 Comments

Boy do I have a treat for you today!  I recently received the fabulous top of the line Magimix by Robot-Coupe food processor for review.  Needless to say, I could not wait to test this gem out!  But do you know what’s even better than that??  The lovely people at  Magimix generously offered to send one Buttercream Blondie reader their very own food processor!!  I told ya this was going to be a good one!

Okay so I definitely want to start off by telling you a little bit about this brand.  Magimix by Robot-Coupe invented the first food processor over 40 years ago, and all processors are fully manufactured in Burgundy, France.  Now in the restaurant industry the only food processor I have ever used is a robot-coupe.  They are the top of the line, commercial grade food processors.  It is the only thing to use and they last forever.  So Magimix by Robot-Coupe gives you the technology of its commercial models in this sleek looking processor for the home, and is sold exclusively at Williams-Sonoma. Commercial grade + pretty on the counter = big win in my book!

This machine comes in 12, 14, and 16 cup models.  I received the 16 cup, and that is definitely the one I would recommend.  The first thing I noticed was that it comes with a trio of bowls.  They all nest inside of each other so they don’t require additional space and having options is so useful. Sometimes I just need to chop a small amount of something so the small bowl is probably one of the biggest highlights for me.  Plus that 16 cup bowl is awesome when I have to make a big batch of crisp topping or pie dough.

Here you can see how great the little bowl is great for small quantities.

The second thing I love is that all the attachments come in their own case.  That’s right, gone are the days where you’ll have to rummage through a drawer to find a certain blade.  I’m sure you can imagine how many gadgets I have floating around my kitchen, so when a company gives me a storage solution that is neat and doesn’t take up much space, it truly brings me joy. It’s the little things!

As far as performance goes, basically this machine is the mama of all food processors.  Even though it has a commercial grade motor, and is extremely powerful, it is super quiet.  I have been using it non-stop since I got it, and I love it!  Remember when I made these over the top brownies last week?? Well it didn’t just kinda crush those M&Ms, it pulverized them!  I also used it to puree my strawberry rhubarb compote when I made these Strawberry Rhubarbaritas which, by the way, will definitely be happening again for Mother’s Day brunch!  While we’re on the subject of Mother’s Day, I definitely want to mention that this would make a fabulous gift for the mom who loves to cook!

Aside from all that good stuff, there is also a juice extractor & smoothie attachment.  This attachment is sold separately, but when I noted how beyond fantastic I thought it was, they said hey we’ll throw that in too!  Yup, you’re getting that too!  I drink a lot of smoothies and make lots of sorbet so this attachment is incredibly useful!

Perfect for smoothies & sorbet!

Well there you have it!  This processor definitely gets my stamp of approval and will always have a spot on my counter.  This would make a fantastic Mother’s Day gift for the mom who loves to cook, and like I said is sold exclusively at Williams-Sonoma.

Sorry didn’t mean to submit yet didn’t proof read was just getting into the moment here is a revised version of my comment hope it makes sense. Where do I begin, I recently got diagnosed with celiac disease and my two lil girls although their test results showed a negative result, I still firmly believe they have gluten intolerance or due to inconsistency in testing have Celiac Disease. They also both have extreme sensitives to dyes. Wait it gets better, my baby girl is allergic to all type of tree nuts, milk, and peanuts. We have been going chemical free making our own cleaning products. We have to go preservative free as well b/c some preservative(s) is causing myself as well as my kiddies to react. So when I say we are making drastic life and diet changes in the last few months we really are!! My husband has been so supportive and has really been so open minded about our new diet and way of life, he is pretty much gluten free as well. Having a food processor/juicer in the house would make things so much easier on all of us, making bread, processing coconut for coconut milk, juicing apple juice for the girls, or homemade orange juice would just be so much easier then doing it the old fashion way. I honestly don’t know where I would begin because I would be truly thankful for such a gift that I know at the moment is out of my reach financially!! Anyway didn’t mean to go all into my life, I just want to share. Hope whoever gets it puts it to good use because I know I WOULD!! :^)

I’ve just started following you on Pinterest and receiving your emails. I think I would probably puree some of the absolutely beautiful berries that are available right now and use them as a filling for cupcakes. Ok, I’m drooling now. Sigh, if only I were able to make that puree right now.
