Don’t they just scream holiday? We’re celebrating big time today with a brand new look, a fantastic giveaway, and of course, dessert! First, I want to welcome you to the new and improved Buttercream Blondie!
I am so excited to finally share what we’ve been working on for the past few months, and I hope you love it as much as I do! We’ve made some major improvements to make the site easy to navigate, and create a space that leaves you feeling like your sprinkle tank is full! In addition to recipes and videos, you’ll also find information on baking classes (so exciting!) and ordering custom cakes and confections! There’s also a brand new Buttercream Blondie Travel section, where I’ll be dishing on everything from luxury cruises to where to find the best scones in Ireland! Take a look around, and let me know what you think!
Most importantly, a brand new look calls for an epic dessert, and that’s where these peppermint whoopie pies come in! I gave my favorite whoopie pie recipe a holiday makeover and then I completely went to town with all the sparkles and sprinkles I could get my hands on. Not like I need much of an excuse for that 😉 What’s even more exciting – I know, what could possibly be more exciting that sparkly whoopie pies, is an amazing giveaway form my friends at Farberware! You guys know that I have partnered with them for the holiday season to bring you some super festive and delicious recipes, and now it’s time to play Santa and gift 2 readers with my favorite cookware and bakeware!
I told you this was good!
Lets chat about these little whoopie pies first! They are so easy to make and that peppermint buttercream sandwiched in the middle has just the right amount of holiday floating around! I was originally planning to leave them as is, but hello, who am I kidding? As soon I started filling them, I knew some zhushing needed to take place. A little chocolate ganache topped with crushed peppermint candies, red sanding sugar and all the sparkles were exactly what they needed! I’ll be showing you how I decorate these over on Instagram in the next few days, so stay tuned!
Seriously, how good are these for holiday parties, even if you’re idea of holiday party means being curled up on the couch watching The Holiday.
P.S. If you’re making these for a 21 and up crowd, ditch the peppermint extract and add a splash or two of peppermint schnapps instead. You’re welcome!
Make sure to hop over to Farberware after you enter the giveaway for the full peppermint whoopie pie recipe!
