Happy Friday, friends! Valentine’s Day is fast approaching and love is in the air – along with decadent desserts, pink frosting and ridiculous amounts of heart sprinkles! No wonder I love it. I mean it’s like I’m expected to make everything even more pink than usual – like I need an excuse!
Aside from the whole pink and hearts situation, I think we can all agree Valentine’s Day is a perfect excuse to indulge. Whether you’re baking up something sweet for someone, or even better – treating yourself, I’ve rounded up my favorite Valentine’s Day desserts. From cupcakes to cheesecakes, no-bakes to a decadent red wine layer cake, it’s all here!
Chocolate dipped strawberries are good, but roasted strawberries are even better, especially when we’re talking Roasted Strawberry Mascarpone Cupcakes! These cupcakes bake up beautifully, are studded with sweet, roasted strawberries and topped with swirls of luscious mascarpone frosting.
My only advice is to make extra roasted strawberries because they disappear in a snap! They’re also brilliant on waffles – just putting it out there.
Raspberry Swirl Chocolate Truffle Cheesecakes are definitely one of my favorites! They’ve got all the big Valentine’s Day dessert credentials: Rich, sinful, decadent, yet light, and that pop of raspberry seals the deal. And the little heart shaped springform pans – I can’t even.
If chocolate is your thing, go for these Raspberry Whoopie Pies immediately! Don’t even wait for Valentine’s Day. Make them this weekend – they’re so worth it! The raspberry buttercream is life, and I’m all about the hot pink raspberry sprinkles!
I believe cheesecake is ALWAYS a good idea, especially when we’re talking about these No-Bake Nutella Cheesecakes! These little gems have a hidden layer of Nutella ganache (!!!) that makes ya just want to grab a spoon and call it a day!
That whole sharing thing is so overrated…
Be still my beating heart! These Birthday Cake Sugar Cookie Bars topped with about 3,456,233 sprinkles are sure to win anyone’s heart. Have you made them yet? I can’t get enough of them. Weekend plans include topping them with all the heart sprinkles I can get my hands on and trying not to eat them all…
Bringing it back to those roasted strawberries with The Pink Squirrel 2.0: Roasted Strawberry Milkshakes because boozy milkshakes are always a good idea, and pink food = the best food!
The chocolate peanut butter combo is a sure way to anyone’s heart, and these No-Bake Peanut Butter Krispie Treats are no exception! Topped with a sprinkle of flaked sea salt, the only problem is you might not want to part with them 😉
Tip: Skip the sea salt and doll these up with loads of Valentine’s Day sprinkles for a fun treat you can make with the little ones!
If these Jacked-Up Red Velvet Whoopie Pies don’t say love, I don’t know what does! Red velvet is a must for Valentine’s Day in my book and all I have to say is bourbon cream cheese frosting.
Bourbon. Cream. Cheese. Frosting.
Red wine and chocolate – need I say more? This Red Wine Chocolate Layer Cake is the definition of true love.
Candy is another must for Valentine’s Day, but how about completely upping your candy game with a batch of Turtle Thumbprint Cookies! The classic candy transformed into the ultimate cookie, complete with homemade caramel is nothing short of swoon worthy!
Decisions, decisions… Do you have any requests for Valentine’s Day desserts? Let me know in the comments below, I’d love to hear them! For those of you who’ve been asking for chocolate cupcakes, stay tuned!
Thanks so much for reading! I hope you all have a great weekend and happy baking! xo

Red wine reduction drizzled over frosting? OH HELLO!!!!!!
I had to stop making balsamic reduction because it was SO GOOD that I just left the sauce pan on the stove-top with a spoon in it, and each time I walked by I, … well, … YOU get the idea. There was never any left for what it was supposed to GO ON!
It was such a new and wonderful taste experience that I thought I’d died and gone to heaven 🙂
I’m going to make the cupcakes-but vanilla, rather than chocolate; marscapone rather than goat cheese; and I just may have to use that raspberry balsamic up on the shelf for the perfect little drizzle to set off some nice vanilla buttercream.
Thanks for the inspiration, Meghan!!!!
